Fire Craft is one of the life-saving skills taught at Lifesong Wilderness Adventures Survival Camp for Teenagers. Youth have little opportunity to learn and develop these fire skills as society’s dependence on heat and cooking is done for them by the flip of a switch or turn of a dial. In these ever-changing times, the importance for sons and daughters to learn fire-making skills makes good sense. Finding success with a skill so fundamental to life naturally instills a confidence rare in our modern world —and one in which they feel pride in their relationship to nature.

Reflections
“I have been running our survival camp for teenagers each summer since 2004. It has been a joy these many years. The high energy and enthusiasm of the young people are contagious! And with each new season, I’m happy to see how the teens are quick to make friends and take care of each other during camp.
I have watched our teens day by day grow more and more confident in themselves. I have observed over these many years how profoundly healthy it is for children to spend time in nature. It is a natural place for them to be, learn, and grow.
Our program is a good and healthy place for your child to be this summer and their experience will last a lifetime.” ~ Mark J Wienert, owner and lead instructor, of Lifesong Wilderness Adventures.
